Qofte in Albanian means meat patties or burgers,
This is the funnest cake ever! Simple to make too, I love baking cakes but the decorating part makes me nervous…crumbs in the icing, flowers breaking etc. With this cake the chocolate and candies cover it all up! Looks great and stress free to make!
Spinach pies are a great snack or lunch idea…my kids love them, especially when I add cheese to them:)
Kataifi with cheese is a popular dessert in the Mediterranean, mostly in the Middle Eastern part and in Turkey. It is my favourite way of preparing Kataifi. My kids and husband love when I make this!
This is my mama’s favourite! She always makes this for the kids…its her specialty! Its so easy to make…and turns simple vanilla ice cream to an amazing and impressive dessert!
What you will need for easy homemade vanilla ice cream:
Cut the vanilla bean in half, and slit the one half with a butter knife scrape the inside and add to the cream along with the pod. Combine heavy cream, milk, sugar, salt, vanilla till well blended. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Follow instructions on your ice cream maker for making ice cream. For mine I have to have the bowl frozen for 24 hours, before using.
Takes about 20 minute of turning, before it forms into ice cream. Remove from bowl and transfer to freezer safe container. Freeze for 1 to 2 hours before serving.
For Pineapple and Pecans:
Peel and cut pineapple, use as much of it as you need. Cut into bite-size chunks. In a pan melt the butter on medium heat, add the pineapple and cook till heated. Add the brown sugar and pecans. Liquid will start to thicken up like candy.
You may add more sugar to desired sweetness, and you may add a touch of cinnamon if desired.
Top hot pineapple and pecans over the ice cream and enjoy:)
This is a fun cake, that everyone will love! You can add a topper if you have one like I have in this picture, or not as I have made it without as well. I made this for my sons grade 8 graduation, the boys loved it!
