One of my favourite things was walking into the kitchen and seeing my mom making home made chicken noodle soup with chicken salad sandwiches. My aunt used to make chicken noodle soup with these little ball shaped noodles, called Acini di pepe, where as my mom made them with egg noodles or ditalini. I would get so excited about it! I just loved it so much! Continue reading “Chicken Noodle Soup & Chicken Salad Sandwich” »

Traditionally manti is made with a home made dough, rolled out and cut into circles or squares. Its basically a Turkish style ravioli. This is just the easy way to make them, as you don’t have to make your own dough and roll and cut…but if your in the mood to make them from scratch I have got a treat for you! I recently made them and they are not too hard to make at all! Continue reading “Easy Manti” »
This is my Grandfathers (gjyshi in Albanian) way of making salad, when ever I make it I get transported back to that big old house, sitting at the huge cherry wood dining table with that patterned vinyl table cloth in the dining room with my grandparents. In the summer he would use the veggies from the garden except for the lettuce as he never grew them in the garden. It was always so good, the oregano and feta makes this salad extra special! My grandfather loved oregano, used it in a lot of his recipes. Continue reading “Salad with Feta Cheese – Grandpa’s Salata” »
Made this cake for my friends son! He is a huge Cars fan! I actually didn’t make the black frosting as black isn’t the easiest colour to make! I used the tubed black frosting from Wilton.
I made the red using Christmas red and Tasteless red, for the yellow, I used golden yellow and green for the grass. I printed out a banner with Happy Birthday on it and added it at the party with wooden skewers. It turned out super cute! Continue reading “Cars Cake” »
A friend of mine was having a bridal shower, and the theme was black & white.
I came up with different designs using those colours for the shower, I made my own white buttercream, since black is hard to get perfect I got a tube of black icing from Wilton. That was easy to work with, all you have to do is add the tip and ring around the tip of the tube! Continue reading “Black & White cupcakes” »
Turli tava means a mixture of things cooking together in the same pot! You can use any vegetable you have on hand! This is a simple recipe, anything goes! You can even make it with out meat, by just mixing a variety of vegetables and cooking them together, making a veggie stew! This is also a perfect recipe for a crock pot! I like to make this in the oven because I like the taste of roasted garlic and potatoes, you can make this on the stove top as well.
I like to make this with chicken in the summer using the zucchini and peppers from my garden, its just a nice summery dish! Continue reading “Chicken Turli Tava” »
