Chicken and Rice (Pule Me Oriz)
Zaatar Wheels
Super fast and easy appetizer and tasty too! Zaatar is made out of thyme, sumac and sesame seeds for more info and health beneifts on zataar follow this link zaatar-thyme. This amount will make 8-9 rolls, if I am having guest over I double or triple the amount.
Dolma (Stuffed Peppers and Zucchini)
I made these dolma’s vegetarian, if you want you can add ground meat to it, add to the rice mixture either raw or cooked, (it will cook while baking)
Chicken with Tahini sauce
I made this dish today ,and it turned out delicious! I do not know exact measurements as I was just throwing things in the pyrex pan and whisking together. You may want to adjust the flavour or seasoning to your liking and depending on how much your making.
Corn Beef and Cabbage
This was my first time eating corn beef and cabbage, my mom made it, she does every year at work, this is the first time she made it home. I have to admit I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it, and I loved it!! The cornbeef came salted (seasoned) so we didnt add any seasonings to it. Cooking the veggies separately made it even better. They didnt get terribly mushy, but cooked perfectly. If you want more flavour in your potatoes and cabbage then add them in the pan with the corn beef.
Fruit Topped Cake
It’s been a busy week for me, making desserts for my family and friends.
This cake was simple to make, and looks amazing. Decorating with fruit can make anything look naturally wonderful!
Strawberry Trifle
This is a wonderful and light tasting trifle! I added lemon zest to the cake batter as it takes away that egg-y taste and smell…that I don’t care for! It tastes so much better, who knew a little lemon zest can make such a difference?!
Little Mermaid Cake
I was asked to do a Little Mermaid cake from a friend of mine, for her daughter. I was excited as she is my favourite Disney Princess. I needed some inspiration so I watched the movie.
Little Mermaid Cupcakes
To make these cupcakes, I used the Little mermaid cupcake liners and got the stickers and icing flounder and stars at Micheal’s. As for the flowers I made them from fondant.
Tropical Dream Cake
Since I probably will not be going away to the Caribbean any time soon, I brought the caribbean to me…in form of a cake:)
I was in the fruit section at my local grocery store, while I was there I noticed star fruits. Never have I tried it, but I was inspired to make use of it. Its tart, not sweet and no flavour to it really, not sure if I got a bad one, but the girl that worked there said that its ripe and ready to eat when yellow. Oh well it makes a pretty garnish, and possibly good in a punch. The strawberries are organic and smell amazing!
