One of my favourite treats when I was a kid was my Aunt Angela’s marshmallow, or ambrosia salad I just loved it, still do till today! I came across a similar salad ambrosia-or-five-cup-salad by deelicioussweets which I tried out today as well and loved it!
Can’t decide which I like better, one has a nostalgic taste to it and the other a new fresh twist! After comparing the two I combined them in one big bowl, yeah I am one happy girl;)
What you will need:
- 1 796 ml can of ‘very’ cherry fruit cocktail
1 small can of pineapple tidbits or 1 cup fresh pineapple
1 jar mandarin oranges or 4-5 small mandarins
250 ml sour cream
1 cup mini marshmallows
If you like you can add 1 cup Cool whip for a fluffier texture
Drain canned fruit, if using fresh pineapple cut into small chunks, if using mandarins peel and separate segments of mandarin.
Add all fruit to bowl and combine with sour cream and Cool whip if using, stir in the marshmallows. Chill and serve when ready.
