Oreo Cookies…where do I begin? I never been a fan of them to tell you truthfully….I always preferred chocolate fudge cookies…or even better homemade cookies! All of a sudden this past month I have grown to love this cookie! Its the only store bought cookie that I ever buy as its the only store bought treat my kids ask for! Last week I made an Oreo cake and I loved it, I made one last year…didn’t care for it much…but this time around it was different…I actually really enjoyed it!
Mmmm these turned out even better than my strawberry cheese swirls! Well I think so, my mom is obsessed with the strawberry ones! Its blueberry and peach season here, and I am a seasonal person! I made a delicious peach-freezer-jam last week, that honestly I can eat right out of the jar! The combination of sweet and tangy is wonderful!
Piperka as I grew up calling it or speca means peppers in Albanian, djath means cheese in this case feta cheese! One of the first foods that I remember eating when I was a little girl was peppers and feta! My Grandfathers favourite! Especially when the peppers came from our garden. Today is April 12, 1912 my Grandfather Haxhi was born this day 100 years ago! He passed away 13 years ago this coming May and I miss him dearly!
I can’t keep the tears from falling as I write this out.
Spinach and eggs makes a perfect breakfast, lunch or dinner! My mother in law makes this and I liked it from the first time I tried it! Its a Turkish dish that I like to make for an easy meal that is nutritious and delicious. I had some souguk so I added some to it for added flavour and texture, I normally just make it with out, both ways are delcious!
I made it in a cast iron pan which makes it even more flavourful, and beneficial.
I love French toast, I mention in my other post that my mom would always make us the best French toast! She likes hers salty….I like mine sweet!
I grew up eating Nutella, and of course I would eat it with a spoon right out of the jar! I never thought of putting French toast and Nutella together before!
Spoke to my friend today and she told me she always spreads Nutella on her French toast! What a great idea why didn’t I think of this sooner!? I mean I always eat Nutella sandwiches, and Nutella in my palachinka (crepes)….adding it to French toast is genius!
I made the French toast in my Cast Iron pan, which made it even better! It was not soggy, it cooked evenly and quickly!
This is a traditional Mediterranean breakfast, lunch or snack during the day. Healthy and tasty, paired with fresh bread and tea or coffee.
Sitting at the table with family enjoying your time, conversing with one another, eating good food is something that is simple, you don’t need to leave the house for a good time, nor do you need to break the bank! These ingredients are affordable and enjoyable and most importantly good for you!
Omelette anyone? Super easy and yummy! You add more to it than I did, my son likes it just like this! Garlic and parsley is great too!
Albanians love their peppers and feta…oh and bread! I still remember every fall my grandparents stocking up on peppers and roasting them, and then freezing them for the winter.
Ok so you probably have learned 2 things about me so far…..I always use what I have around the kitchen….and the second my love for pancakes! I had some ripe bananas and a little raspberries left so I figured I’d throw them in the pancake batter, and they turned out amazing!
