Both of our favourite soups combined into one soup! We love lentil soup and we love chicken noodle…making them into one soup works out perfect for us! This soup has it all, veggies, chicken and noodles…the veggies are pureed so its perfect for hiding veggies for those picky eaters at home.
If your from the Balkans then you either heard of or grew up with trahana. Some make trahana on their own, I just buy mine. It comes in a package either made in Turkey or Greece, you can find it at your local Mediterranean or Middle Eastern store. Some come with flavour and herbs others are plain. I prefer the plain, and I add mint.
I love cream of leek soup, my mom and grandma like it chunky…so when I make it, I puree half and leave the other half chunky! Makes everyone happy:)
I have been wanting to try this every since Alice from allyskitchen posted it! I never tried zataar in soup before but I love zaatar and thought it would taste good! I was right! It tasted really good! Thanks Ally for the inspiration!:)
Lentil soup or mercimek corba in Turkish is a very common soup in the Mediterranean. I grew up on the brown lentil soup, but when I got married I was introduced to the orange lentils. I learned how to make orange lentil soup from my husbands Aunt, I picked up the addition of adding spinach from my dear friend Hatice! She adds butter to her soup at the end of cooking, which does make it taste so good, but if you want to save on calories then just make as is in the recipe.
I have another lentil soup recipe on here as well under the soup category, both are very delicious soups.
A warm bowl of soup with a piece of fresh bread always hits the spot! This is one of our favourite soups, its really so tasty and good for you! Perfect for when you have a cold!
My favourite soup of all time! Every my mom would tell us she was going to make this, it always brought a smile to our faces.
Most commonly known as avgolemono, it means egg and lemon in Greek, and in Turkish terbiyeli kofte corbasi means sour seasoned meatball soup, how ever you call it…its a delicious hearty soup!
One of my favourite things was walking into the kitchen and seeing my mom making home made chicken noodle soup with chicken salad sandwiches. My aunt used to make chicken noodle soup with these little ball shaped noodles, called Acini di pepe, where as my mom made them with egg noodles or ditalini. I would get so excited about it! I just loved it so much!
