I found this recipe on a bag of mini Chipits when my son was little, I have been making it since…its one of our favourite cookie recipes! If you like soft chewy cookies this is the cookie for you!

Big chocolate chip cookie….my kids love them!

What you will need:
  • 2/3 cup melted butter
  • 2 cups  lightly packed brown sugar ( I prefer dark)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons  hot water
  • 2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon  baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon  baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon  salt
  • 1 package (270 g) Hershey’s Chipits semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions:

In large bowl, beat melted butter, brown sugar, eggs and hot water until smooth. In another bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stir into butter mixture until blended.

Stir in milk chocolate chips. Drop from tablespoons onto parchment lined cookie sheet.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 375. Let cool 1 minute, remove to wire rack.

If you want to bake it in a cast iron pan as I did, preheat the pan in a 400 degree oven for 10 mins. Add half of the dough and press down, bake for 12-15 mins.

That’s mine…I called it:)

Baked in a Cast Iron pan, makes more chewy and soft bars
