Down and Dirty Brownies

That is the name that won the game! Thank you Suzy from Slice of Sweet Art Bakery for coming up with it, and thanks to all that voted for the name of these yummilicious brownies! Honestly these were the best brownies I have every made, the kids loved them! Fun to make too, my daughter had fun separating the colours for the candy and sneaking some too.:)

Down and Dirty Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate chunk brownie mix (prepare as directed on box)
  • For blondies:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 stick and 1/2 of unsalted butter
  • 1 cup golden yellow brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 -8 g packet vanilla sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup chocolate candy
  • 1 cup marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt.
  2. Melt the butter in a small pot, transfer to a mixing bowl, cream melted butter with both sugars. Add in the vanilla and eggs.
  3. Add in the flour, combine well. Add in the marshmallows Grease bottom of 9x13 inch pan, line with parchment for easy removal. Spread the brownie batter on the bottom of pan, that is your base. Top with spoonfuls of the blondie batter, and sprinkle with chocolate candy. Bake at 325 for 30 minutes, check with a toothpick at 30 minutes...if it comes out clean its baked. If not continue to bake till toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Remove from pan with the parchment and allow to cool for 20 minutes before cutting into. Enjoy!

  4. Oh boy, I wish I had those jumbo marshmallows at home. I have flavored ones I guess strawberry ones in slices form. I am not sure if I should use those. I have the rest of the stuff though. Yours Down & dirty looks so good & pictures are stunning as always.

    • No don’t use the flavoured marshmallows, they will ruin them! In fact even the plain ones from Cedar or the other halal brands are just awful! The only ones that are good for baking with and eating of the bag or Ziyads brand. Its hard to find, but they do sell them in Dearborn. Thank you Saira :)
