As you may know from my previous posts, French toast is a childhood favourite of mine. My mom would even make it for me for dinner, that is how much I loved it! It is simple to make using regular bread, and eggs. This French toast waffle is even better than the original…is that possible? Yes it is, and you must try it out yourself!
All you need to do is brush your waffle maker with a little oil, just to make sure it doesn’t stick. You can try making it without it, and see if it sticks, if it doesn’t even better!
What you will need:
- 3 eggs
2 tbsp milk
5 slices of bread
Preheat waffle maker. In a bowl whisk the milk and eggs. Brush waffle grid if need be. Dip both sides of the bread into egg mixture. Place bread into hot and ready waffle maker, I set it to 4 and 1/2 on the dial. When it turns green it’s done. Cut into fours.
Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar if desired.
Serve with chocolate or nut spread, maple syrup and fresh strawberries. Enjoy!
Oh my, I am loving the picture with strawberries & chocolate. I better buy waffle iron ASAP. Thanks for sharing the joy of enjoying food in unique ways.
