The time has come, it just happened so fast! I know you would think we as parents had all this time to prepare for this moment, but in actuality it hit us hard, as if time just passed and we don’t know how it happened!
He didn’t want a party, so I tried to make it as low key as possible, we had our best friends come over, her kids and mine are close to the same ages, her son and my sons birthdays are 4 days apart and they are both graduating at the same time, he had some friends from school over, we could have invited more, but he doesn’t like crowds, gee I wonder where he got that from, hehe.
Congratulations to the class of 2014!
For the burgers, I used bread crumbs, 1 egg, milk, dry oregano, seasoning salt, herb salt, garlic salt, Montreal steak spice, combine the bread crumbs with milk, crumbs will absorb the milk, mix with ground beef and seasonings, grill on barbecue. I topped them with jalapeno havarti cheese, they were a hit!
Recipe for grilled-veggies, but this time around I didn’t make a dressing, just added olive oil and salt. For the baby potatoes, I boiled them in salted water, then drained them when they just about cooked, then grilled them to perfection, drizzled some olive oil and sprinkled some salt over them.
I grilled a Spanish onion and a large red onion, they were used as a burger topper and as a side, so good.
For the chicken kabobs, I used these ingredients paprika, seasoning salt, dried oregano, garlic salt, herb seasoned salt, salt, vinegar and olive oil, marinate for at least 4 hours. You can add some yogurt to the marinade but I find that it makes the grill a mess, so I don’t like to add it, but if you don’t mind cleaning all that up go ahead! haha
Congrats to your son! Mine turned 1 year old last month and believe me even I have similar feelings. How fast is time flying! The cake looks gorgeous! It is like a masterpiece! Everything on the table is just calling my name! Looks like a perfect celebration for the children!
