It’s peach season here in Ontario, after strawberry season this is my second favourite! Grilled peaches is a simple yet delicious way of using your peaches. Serve it with vanilla ice cream and there you have it, a delightful and sweet dessert.
I topped it off with my peach-freezer-jam, and some broken up pieces of this delicious roasted white chocolate bar that I got from Licia Ruby Food Co. It has such a unique flavour and it’s very addicting! I am big on supporting local businesses, so I am happy to share this with you.
For grilled peaches, you don’t want to use ripe or soft peaches, they should be firm, slightly ripe is fine.
What you will need:
- 6 peaches
- 2-3 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- dash of cinnamon
Rinse peaches and cut into halves; remove pit. Grease the grill so that peaches do not stick. You can do this on your indoor grill over the stove top as well. Place peaches on grill, (skin side up).
Melt the butter, add the brown sugar and cinnamon to the melted butter.
Once the peaches are almost done grilling flip them over and brush over the melted butter, turn over until sugar caramelizes, takes about a minute. It makes a little bit of a mess, but so worth it!
Transfer to a serving dish, and top with vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
I have a box of peaches sitting here right now just waiting to become jam. I think my batch of jam just got smaller.
