Happy 2nd Blogiversary! Lets Celebrate with Brownies!

Happy 2nd Blogiversary and my 360th post! Thank you all for your continuing support of my blog! It means so much to me that you come by and visit me, ask me questions and comment on my posts! I hope to continue this journey for a long time…I really enjoy sharing my recipes and stories with you!

To celebrate I will be having a giveaway! I have not decided yet what it is…when I find the perfect thing I will let you know….it will be very soon though I can promise you that:)

In the meantime lets celebrate with some brownies! My favourite store brand is Ghirardelli, my favourite homemade is my adaptation of  a recipe from Nestle Tollhouse.

Happy 2nd Blogiversary

My adaptation, what you will need:

  • 2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 -2/3 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts or chocolate candy like mini m&m’s or broken up  egg chocolates(optional)
Preheat oven to 350. Grease 13 x9 inch pan.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a measuring cup.
Melt chocolate over a double broiler along with the butter ( I use a stainless steel bowl over a pot of hot water).
Stir sugar, melted butter, melted chocolate chips, eggs, water and vanilla in a large mixing bowl, stir until well combined using a wooden spoon or spatula.
Stir in flour mixture, mix until well combined. Stir in nuts if using. Spread in pan greased pan, (I like to place of parchment for easy removal of brownies).
If your using the candy, sprinkle chocolate candy on top over the batter.
Bake for 20-24 minutes or until toothpick comes out slightly sticky. Cool in pan.
