Watermelon Fruit Punch

Its summer time! So much fruit to choose from to enjoy and cool off with on a hot summers day! I love to make juice for my kids, and they sure love when I come up with new drinks! I was inspired with what I had in the kitchen, I had half a watermelon in the fridge, some left over cherries and my mom had got me some limes, I thought it would make for a good drink and I was right!

The other drink is made of oranges and strawberries, my strawberries weren’t as pretty as they were the day before so they were perfect for juice making! I had some oranges in the fridge that no one was touching so I decided to make 2 kinds of juices!

To sweeten my drinks up I use Rose’s grenadine it adds a nice flavour and colour to it as well. I don’t really measure, I just pour in a little and taste, if I want more I pour in a little at a time till I am satisfied.

To make the watermelon, cherry & lime punch:

  • 1/2 small-medium sized watermelon makes about 5-6 cups worth of chunks of watermelon
  • 1 cup of pitted cherries
  • 1 whole large lime**
  • Few spoons of Rose’s grenadine
  • 3-4 ice cubes

Cut up the watermelon in chunks, remove seeds from cherries, and peel lime. Add to juicer, if you don’t have a juicer you can use the blender. Add some grenadine and adjust flavour. Add in some ice cubes and blend for added frothiness.

*You may use more than 1 lime if you like.

*To get more juice out of your lime, microwave it for 15 seconds and then roll on the counter top with your hands.

Orange & strawberry punch:

  • 5 oranges
  • 1 & 1/2 cup strawberries
  • Few spoons of Rose’s grenadine
  • 3-4 ice cubes

Juice oranges and strawberries, if you don’t have a juicer you can make it with your blender. Add in the grenadine till desired taste. Add in ice cubes and blend for frothiness.
